About Dr. Olivero

Dr. Olivero received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Illinois in 1976 – graduating Phi Beta Kappa.  He then earned his Medical Degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1980, where he graduated with Honors, AOA.  Dr. Olivero completed his Residency in Neurological Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1987.  He then completed his Fellowship in Pediatric Neurological Surgery at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona.

From 1989 to 2018, Dr. Olivero served as a Professor of Neurological Surgery at the University of Illinois.  In addition, he was the Program Director of a Neurosurgical Residency Program from 2000 to 2006.

Dr. Olivero served as an Examiner for the American Board of Neurological Surgery.  He has received several awards and honors, including awards from the Society of Neurological Surgeons and being named a Best Doctor.  He has presented numerous times at national and international Neurosurgical Conferences (see CV) and has published over 80 papers in peer-reviewed journals (see CV).
