Huan (John) Wang, MD

Huan (John) Wang, M.D., Associate Professor of Neurosurgery, is a board certified neurosurgeon, specializing in cerebrovascular diseases, skull-base tumors, and neuro-endovascular pathologies.  He is also certified in Neurocritical-Care and Regenerative Medicine. He performs complex brain and spine surgeries including fusion operations for degenerative spine diseases. Dr. John Wang obtained his M.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine under Dr. William Olivero, and received advanced fellowship training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He is happily married to Dr. Bonnie Wang and together they have two wonderful children.

Bonnie Wang, MD

Bonnie Wang, M.D., M.H.A., is a board-certified internal medicine physician, specializing in neurocritical care. An expert clinician and fellowship-trained proceduralist, she offers advanced, innovative, and holistic therapies to help patients achieve optimal wellness and outstanding clinical outcomes. Dr. Bonnie Wang received her M.H.A. from the University of Southern California and was a practicing physical therapist for over a decade before going back to pursue her M.D. and residency training both at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She was also fellowship-trained in Neurocritical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She is happily married to Dr. John Wang, and is the proud mother of two wonderful children.

Jizzel Anne De Leon

Jizzel Anne De Leon, NP

Jizzel came to Re  Innovative Neuroscience Institute from the Sarasota Memorial Hospital, where she spent two years in the Oncology Unit and three years in the Intensive Care Unit. Jizzel has served on several work and community-based committees, including the Research and Evidence-Based Practice Council at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Remote Area Medical Event in Manatee County, and the DNP Project, which focuses on Improving Patient Safety & Minimizing Alarm Fatigue through Effective Alarm Management. In addition, Jizzel has certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Stroke Care.

William Olivero, MD

William Olivero, M.D., Professor of Neurosurgery, has over 30 years of experience as a board-certified neurosurgeon, and has served as a Professor of Neurological Surgery at the University of Illinois since 1990. He has trained many neurosurgeons and was the neurosurgery residency program director from 2000 to 2006. Dr. William Olivero received his M.D. and residency training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and was fellowship-trained at the Barrow Neurological Institute. With his wife, Karen Olivero, he is the proud parent of two beautiful daughters, and recently became a proud grandparent of one lovely granddaughter.
